Purpose of collection and use of information
Our primary goals in collecting information is to provide and improve our Services, to administer your use of the Services (including your Account, if you are an Account holder), and to enable you to enjoy and easily navigate our Services.
- To create and manage user accounts for teachers, students, and parents.
- To facilitate and enhance the educational experience, including delivering and tracking assignments, assessments, and communications.
- To provide technical support and customer service.
- For internal purposes such as auditing, data analysis, and research to improve MYG Star Inc.’s Services, product and communications.
- To verify your eligibility and deliver prizes in connection with contests, sweepstakes, and promotions.
- To provide personalised content and recommendations
- To keep you posted on MYG Star Inc.‘s latest Services and updates. We also use it to help us develop, deliver, and improve our Services.
- To comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
When you register, we will collect your full name and email address, and sometimes the parent’s phone number, for the purpose of contacting you, password resets and providing the services. No gender or special needs information is tracked in our data, but it may come up in conversation with the parents when providing services to their child.
If you contact our Support staff or any MYG Star staff member you provide us with the content of that communication. MYG Star can decide that the content of that communication is in some way inappropriate and terminate the user’s account. MYG Star Inc. may, but is not obligated to monitor or review any content you post publicly as part of the service.
We may use browser cookies, tracked through web browsers, to identify that you’ve logged in to the Services. Although most browsers automatically accept cookies, you can change your browser options to stop automatically accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting cookies. Please note, however, that if you don’t accept cookies, you will not be able to stay automatically logged in to the Services. We do not target students with behavioural advertising. Teachers may opt-out of receiving advertising by contacting us through email at [email protected].
We only collect personal information that is necessary for the identified purposes. We collect information by fair and lawful means, such as when users register for an account, interact with our platform, or contact us for support.
Collection and use of non-personal information (NPI)
We also collect NPI – data in a form that does not permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose NPI for any purpose. We may collect information such as occupation, language, zip code, area code, unique device identifier, location, and the time zone where the Services are used so that we can better understand customer behaviour and improve our Services.
If we ever combine NPI with personal information, the combined information will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined.
Disclosure of information
At times MYG Star Inc. may make certain NPI available to strategic partners that work with MYG Star Inc. to provide products and services, or that help MYG Star Inc. market to customers. Information will only be shared by MYG Star Inc. to provide or improve our Services; it will not be shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.
MYG Star Inc. shares information with companies who provide services such as hosting, information processing, extending credit, fulfilling customer orders, delivering products to you, managing and enhancing customer data, providing customer service, assessing your interest in our products and services, and conducting customer research or satisfaction surveys. Third-party companies or subcontractors are obligated to have security safeguards in place that are equivalent to or better than those of MYG Star Inc.
MYG Start Inc. stores data using Amazon Web Services and all data, in transit and at rest, in the United States. As part of our relationship with AWS Cloud Services, our application, and in turn data, is secured in accordance to the terms and conditions outlined here: https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/
It may be necessary by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence for MYG Star Inc. to disclose your personal information. We may also disclose information about you if we determine that for purposes of national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.
We may also disclose information about you if we determine that disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our terms and conditions or protect our operations or users.
We do not track student behaviour outside of the application.

MYG Star Inc. takes precautions — including administrative, technical, and physical measures — to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

We strive to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. Users may request to update, correct, or delete their information by contacting our Privacy team at [email protected].
Access to personal information
We strive to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. You can request that we correct or delete the information we have about you. We may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, jeopardise the privacy of others, are extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required by local law. Any tutors or teachers working with MYG Star Inc. to provide teaching services are required to sign an NDA. If the tutor or teacher leaves MYG Star Inc., their access is removed and they no longer have access to any student or parent information. If the student leaves our Academy program, their data is stored in our customer data sheet which is cleaned up every 12 months, or the parent or student can request to delete their data at any time by contacting MYG Star Inc., [email protected]
Any user of any part of our platform can contact us to delete any and all of their data at any time, at [email protected]
Commitment to your privacy
We take reasonable measures to protect the information that we collect from or about you from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Please be aware, however, that no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing information is completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.
In the chance of any breach, we have a breach response protocol. We immediately change all our server passwords including private keys used in the code as well. We also inform all users of the potential breach through email, and please note, at no time do we ever possess any password data. All users and any schools or boards working with us will also be informed immediately through email. If there is any point of contact where we have other communication channels and no email, we will notify them there as well.
In the event of a sale, merger, acquisition, the company’s successors will be obligated to have equivalent or better security safeguards for personal information previously collected. Users will be notified of the situation prior to the transfer of their information to the successor, and given an opportunity to opt-out of having their personal information / content transferred.
